This 16-week beginner course gently introduces you to the art of hand and machine sewing, custom-fit, basic alterations, and the science of cutting and pattern layout. You'll complete two garments you can wear with pride: a comfortable pair of pajama pants and a beautifully constructed skirt.

Instruction is led by Nancy DeParga, an FIT-trained fashion designer and recipient of a National Design Award and Beautiful Construction Award, whose teaching style makes even complex techniques feel accessible and encouraging.

TCF Sewing 101 is offered in person in Houston— limited to six students

for a deeply personal learning experience.

Monthly live Zoom Q&A sessions are also included, providing a dedicated space for questions, support, and ongoing guidance throughout your 16 weeks. Additionally, you'll have an online companion with lifetime access to all instructional materials and videos and a Facebook community.
